Kx Advisors Spotlight: Jemima Hill
Kx Advisors Spotlight: Jemima Hill
Strategy, Scientifically Speaking
Jemima, Kx Senior Associate Consultant, loves the ever-changing and fast-paced nature of science. It was no surprise that her inquisitive and analytical mindset translated so well into the business side of the healthcare industry, where she can leverage her scientific expertise to help support medical innovations. Jemima studied Biology at the University of Bath, including a year’s placement working in a pharmaceutical company, after which she realized she wanted to pursue a career that enabled her to apply business concepts to help address important industry questions. Consulting was a natural fit for Jemima’s curious and social persona: “I enjoy primary interviews as I get to hear such interesting first-hand insights from leaders in the healthcare industry and medical professionals, which really reinforces the value of our work and brings it to life.”
Due Diligence Across the Board
In addition to her interest in asking and answering the big questions, Jemima finds fulfillment in the little things when working at Kx Advisors. She, like many of her colleagues, rose to the opportunity to be client-facing on projects shortly after being onboarded as a junior team member. When asked what her favorite part about working at the firm is, Jemima answered, “Uncovering interesting finds and sharing these with the client is something I find really rewarding; it makes you realize the impact that your work can have.” This enthusiasm that she has for her client work overflows into her work with the Kx Fun Committee, planning team get-togethers and socials for the London team.
When Jemima is not working in Kx’s London office, where she enjoys discussing project ideas with her team members and getting to know colleagues better over coffee breaks, she loves going to her early morning spin classes and going out in London with her friends.
Interested in Healthcare Consulting?
Jemima’s main pieces of advice for those interested in consulting are to not be afraid of the steep learning curves, to embrace collaboration with your team, and to always try and make sure you maintain a healthy work-life balance, all of which she sees as being key to building a successful career in healthcare consulting.
