Kx Advisors Committee Spotlight: Kx Giving Committee

Leading with values

Kx strives to work with organizations that align with our core values – supportive, entrepreneurial, and growth-minded – which is why we are proud to partner with the following charities:

  • Martha’s Table to support food drives in the DC community
  • SuitUp to support professional mentorship for at-risk youth
  • The National Center for Missing Children to support reuniting families
  • Inspire to help underprivileged youth in London prepare for careers in business

The Kx Giving Committee, led by Dan O’Neill, a Managing Partner, and Madelyn Solorzano, a Marketing & Business Associate, is a group of Kx employees who identify and evaluate future philanthropic partnership opportunities for the firm. The Giving Committee meets monthly to plan how to support current partnerships and discuss future opportunities. Through the committee, Kx pledges a portion of annual profits to partner charities and engages with these organizations through team events and individual employee volunteering.

Kx as a Community Partner

When Madelyn was asked what she enjoyed most about the committee, she said, “Being able to give back to the community while raising morale within the Kx team is highly rewarding. I feel fortunate to be able to leverage my interpersonal skills in such a meaningful way. To see an immediate positive impact from our teams’ charitable giving is incredibly moving.”

The Giving Committee is made up of Kx-perts motivated to use their skills for noble causes and willing to plan team volunteering events. The committee includes employees at all levels, and it is not uncommon for a junior team member to take the lead in coordinating a volunteer event or pitch a new philanthropy idea during a committee meeting.

Oliver Rees, an Associate Consultant, often takes a leading role in the London activities. When asked what motivates him to be part of the committee, he said, “Being able to encourage my teammates to come together and act on their Kx values to help those in need is a huge motivating factor. We chose our partner charity, Inspire, because we want to help improve the opportunities available to the younger generation and provide them with a toolkit so they can bring their A-game to every goal they pursue, just how we do with our Kx project work.”

Kx seeks to strengthen our partner charities and make a difference in the community through our team. Kx is proud to be a strong community partner, and the Giving Committee leads the way for Kx-perts engaging in corporate philanthropy.
